The Biggest Mistakes Competitors Make at a BJJ Tournament Brazilian jiu jitsu tournaments are physically and mentally demanding. Depending on the tournament, competitors can spend all day sitting around waiting for their division to be up. Not knowing when your division will be called is a nerve-racking experience, leaving you unsure when to warm up and when to eat. Some of the larger tournaments offer competitors more structure ( IBJJF ), with times and schedules assigned a few days before the tournament. But BJJ competitors are still notorious for making some of the same mistakes at every tournament. For every competitor it is important to enter a tournament fully prepared both mentally and physically. Here are the biggest mistakes I see people (even my own students and friends) make when it comes to competing in a BJJ tournament:   Mistake #1: Not Making Weight You could have the best game plan in the world, the best techniques, strength, and conditioning, but it will do you no good if you do not make weight. At many tournaments you can find competitors running around before weigh-ins trying to drop the last few pounds. In the larger federation tournaments if you do not make weight you will be disqualified. Knowing that you could be disqualified places extra pressure on the competitor. Before a tournament, the focus should be on your game plan not on making weight. Many of the larger tournaments during the year take place in different countries and cities. This means traveling for a large number of competitors. It is not uncommon to hear of competitors who missed weight and were no longer allowed to compete....

Im Fitness-Kickboxen verzichten wir ganz bewusst auf das Sparring (Kämpfen). Wer unser Fitness-Kickboxen besucht, kann in einer netten und freundlichen Umgebung verletzungsfrei seine Fitness fördern und aufbauen. Fitness & Selbstverteidigung Der Vorteil beim Fitness-Kickboxen liegt darin, dass mit relativ wenig Zeitaufwand Fett verbrannt und die Muskulatur aufgebaut werden kann. Dies geschieht in einer einstündigen Trainingseinheit, die so strukturiert ist, dass der Körper anschließend voll ausgepowert ist. Eine Trainings-Einheit im Fitness-Kickboxen teilt sich in verschiedene Bereiche auf: – Aufwärmen mit z.B. Schattenboxen oder Seilspringen – Technik-Training mit Partner an Schlagpolstern – Konditionstraining z.B. am Boxsack im Intervalltraining – Stretching um verletzungsfrei zu bleiben Neben dem Fitnesswert besitzt das Fitness-Kickboxen einen sehr hohen Selbstverteidigungswert. Techniken werden schnell erlernt und können so im Bedarfsfall effektiv helfen. Der Einstieg ist auch ohne Kondition und Vorkenntnisse jederzeit möglich. GREAT MMA & BJJ WEEKEND

    POUND FOR POUND MÜNCHEN Last weekend was great for the Pound for Pound Team!!! Our warriors bring 2 golds home!!! Mirza made his first tournament like a BJJ purple belt and bring home the gold from Belgrad Abu Dhabi Pro Trials!!! Daniel Wurm made his debut in the MMA pro in Liechtenstein bringing home the victory by submission in the first round !!! After receive one takedown in the beginning of the round, the fighter from Pound for Pound Team used a good guard control, keeping your opponent locked. After one minute, Daniel made a good sweep going to the top and letting 1 minute to the end of the round Daniel set-up a great triangle attack combined with arm bar, his opponent has no other way to escape and tap out. 2 fighters = 2 victories!!!
